*We have an exclusive clip from tonight’s debut episode of “Down in the Valley,” a documentary series inspired by the vibrant world of the hit “P-Valley” series on Starz.
Per the news release: “The six-half-hour episode series hosted and executive produced by Nicco Annan (“P-Valley”) will take viewers on a tantalizing tour of the Deep South, unveiling a complex South that is equal parts poignant, joyful, and magical.”
“Down in the Valley” season one premieres Friday, July 5, at midnight ET on the STARZ app. On linear, episode 101, “Diamonds of Memphis,” and episode 102, “Saints & Sinners,” will debut on STARZ on July 5 at 9:00 PM ET/PT in the U.S. and 10:00 PM ET in Canada.
Per the release: “Saints and Sinners” takes the audience on a stimulating ride along the bible-belt into the life of ShaRonda Parker, a woman of God determined to de-stigmatize sex in the South. As Nicco immerses himself in her world, he meets some surprising colleagues and a community of women who are ready to get free!” Watch the moment via the clip above.

“Diamonds of Memphis” takes the audience inside the Memphis strip club’s re-re-re-opening (after the pandemic) “to learn about the lives of the women who work there. Nicco joins the OGs and the newcomers as they peel back the layers and give us a unique window into what it is to sell fantasy while living your own reality,” per the release.
“Down in the Valley” is produced by Zero Point Zero for STARZ. In addition to Annan, Pulitzer Prize winner and “P-Valley” creator Katori Hall (“The Hot Wing King,” Oliver Award-winning “The Mountaintop” and Broadway’s “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical”) also serve as executive producer.
Shoshana Guy, an Emmy and Peabody award-winning executive producer, served as showrunner. Lydia Tenaglia and Chris Collins serve as executive producers, along with Emmy award winner Jared Andrukanis, a co-executive producer on behalf of Zero Point. Alice Dickens Koblin, Senior Vice President of Unscripted Programming, and Karen Bailey, Executive Vice President of Programming, oversees the series on behalf of STARZ.
