*When summer heat calls for a cooling escape, few drinks satisfy quite like a chilled glass of watermelon lemonade.
This bright, fruit-filled refresher combines fresh watermelon and homemade lemonade for a drink that’s both sweet and tart, perfect for poolside sipping or backyard gatherings.
As All Recipes reports, to start, you’ll need four cups of cubed watermelon. Blend the watermelon until smooth, then pour it through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp or seeds. Set the vibrant puree aside. Next, make the lemonade base. In a saucepan, bring ½ cup of white sugar and ½ cup of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves, which takes about five minutes. Remove it from heat and mix in 3 cups of cold water along with ½ cup of fresh lemon juice.
To serve, fill 12 glasses with ice. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of the watermelon puree over the ice in each glass. Top off with the lemonade mixture and give it a gentle stir. If desired, garnish each glass with a small wedge of watermelon for a summery touch.
This easy-to-make drink balances natural fruit sweetness with tart citrus, creating a crowd-pleaser that’s as refreshing as it is beautiful. Whether you’re hosting a picnic or just lounging in the sun, watermelon lemonade is a go-to that captures the essence of summer in every sip. Learn more from Divas Can Cook in the clip below.
