*The Emmy Award-winning wine drama “Drops of God” returns to Apple TV+ with a mystery that spans continents and centuries. Executive Producer Klaus Zimmermann reveals that season two takes siblings Camille and Issei on an unprecedented quest to discover the origin of the world’s greatest wine, a challenge even their legendary father Alexandre Léger couldn’t solve.
“We were looking for something that is completely different from season one,” Zimmermann explains. “We wanted a different narrative, a different dynamic, and we came up with this quest.” The eight-episode second season premiered on January 21, 2026, with new episodes releasing weekly through March 11.
The quest creates immediate tension between the siblings, driven by their father’s lingering influence. “This quest is actually the shadow of the father,” Zimmermann says, noting that for Issei, “… this is more like a revenge. He actually knows that he lost the challenge of season one.” And for Camille, “it’s kind of a bad memory because she’s done with the father,” he adds.
The mystery wine’s origin provides one of the season’s biggest surprises. “We ended up making the decision that it comes from a country that is actually at the origin of wine 8,000 years ago,” Zimmermann reveals. “The wine that is not known at all, because it’s a wine that is consumed in the small community where it’s produced. It’s a hidden secret. It’s a gem.”

Beyond the competition, the journey becomes deeply personal for both characters. “It’s basically an existential search for them,” Zimmermann notes. “It’s not about winning a competition. It’s about finding truth and salvation.”
Season two delves deeper into the Léger family mysteries established in the first season, which earned the series an International Emmy Award for Best Drama and a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Ultimately, Zimmermann hopes viewers understand that “family is complicated, and family can be the problem, but it can also be the solution.”
