*Xavier Simmons turned a street naming tribute to his father DMX into a public reckoning Saturday. He called out the rapper’s fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, in front of a crowd gathered to honor the late MC in his Yonkers hometown, All Hip Hop reports.
The street now carries the name “Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons Way.” The event brought together family members from different chapters of the rapper’s life. Lindstrom jointly manages DMX’s estate with the rapper’s daughter, Sasha.
Xavier and his mother, DMX’s former wife Tashera Simmons, nearly didn’t speak at all. Lindstrom and others had wrapped up their remarks when organizers opened the floor to Xavier at the last minute.
“There is absolutely no way that you will close this ceremony and we will not hear from his original entire family,” Xavier said.

Xavier then fixed his gaze on Lindstrom and said what was on his mind. “Desiree Lindstrom. You have behaved dishonorably,” he said, accusing her of shutting DMX’s children and their mother out of key moments tied to the rapper’s legacy. His microphone was swiftly cut off before he could finish.
The fallout reshaped the remainder of the ceremony. Lindstrom had been positioned to unveil the street sign but stepped aside. Mayor Spano handled the reveal instead. Reports suggested Lindstrom left the grounds shortly after the confrontation.
She later went online to weigh in, saying, “Did my son expose these devils? They’ve been exposed. Y’all know DMX. Y’all know Tashera. We built the DMX legacy together. There is no X without Tashera. The fact that they came to my hometown and did not want us to be recognized. I’mma let y’all sit with that one.”
