*D.L. Hughley claims Elon Musk is the “chief of dispensing misinformation” on his popular social media app X (formally Twitter).
The Tesla co-founder acquired the platform for $44 billion in October 2022. Lately, as Revolt reports, he has publicly supported Donald Trump, including participating in a voter town hall on October 17 in Pennsylvania, a key swing state, and appearing at a Trump campaign rally on October 5.
When Hughley spoke to radio personality Big Boy for a recent interview, he criticized Musk’s involvement in the election cycle.
“When you’re really, really rich, what do you buy? Media… And why do you buy it? Because you want to control the narrative. You want to be so rich that you tell people what to think,” the comedian said.

“Even that tells you how much money you have and how important it is. I’ll lose money to shape a narrative,” Hughley added. “I’ll lose money to shape minds, to tell people what to think. Like, he’s literally the chief of dispensing misinformation, the chief of it. He’s AI, all these kinds of things, he’s said all kind of stuff, but that is how valuable having information is, the access to information.”

Meanwhile, Musk has reportedly invested $75 million into the political action committee America PAC, which is focused on securing swing state voters for Trump. The tech billionaire is offering $100 for signatures from registered voters. He recently surprised a random petition signer with a $1 million check and pledged to continue this daily giveaway until the U.S. election on November 5.
Elon’s PAC was created to “support candidates who champion Secure Borders, Sensible Spending, Safe Cities, Fair Justice System, Free Speech and Self-Protection,” according to the bio on X.
ELON MUSK: “I have a surprise for you. We are going to be awarding $1 MILLION to people who have signed the petition every day, from now until the election.”
