*An old post from Cardi B rejecting the Republican Party resurfaced online after Nicki Minaj appeared at a pro-Trump event.
The post, originally shared by Cardi in 2024 on X, gained new attention on December 23 after Minaj appeared at a Turning Point USA event backing Trump and Vice President JD Vance. In the message, Cardi B wrote, “I will never turn Republican lol [laugh out loud].” At the time it was posted, the comment drew little reaction, according to Newsweek.
The renewed attention came after Threads creator @kendollmix shared a screenshot of the post, and it quickly went viral. The repost was captioned, “She said what she said! Cardi for Congress.”
As we reported earlier, Nicki Minaj delivered surprising remarks at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest convention on Dec. 21, appearing alongside Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, at the Arizona gathering. The hip-hop star shared her political perspectives and discussed her advocacy work against violence targeting Christians in Nigeria.

During her remarks, Minaj encouraged young men to model themselves after Trump, describing traits she associated with him as “handsome” and “dashing.” She also dissed California Gov. Gavin Newsom, referring to him as “Newscum,” a nickname previously used by Trump, amid ongoing disputes over transgender youth policies.
Minaj expressed admiration for the current administration and its leadership. “This administration is full of people with heart and soul, and they make me proud of them. Our vice president, he makes me … well, I love both of them,” she said. “Both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to.”
