*CBS’s breakout daytime drama “Beyond The Gates” is officially coming back for more. The network has renewed the series for a second season, following an impressive debut that delivered strong ratings and elevated CBS’s daytime lineup with its unique, Black-led storytelling.
Premiering on February 24, “Beyond The Gates” quickly became a standout, boosting its time slot by 48% in broadcast viewership and climbing 67% in multiplatform numbers compared to the same period last year. It also pulled ahead of ABC’s General Hospital among women aged 25-54, topping it by 7% in the key daytime demographic, per the news release.
Set in a wealthy, predominantly Black gated community in the suburbs of Maryland, the series revolves around the prestigious Dupree family, a dynasty of power, influence, and closely guarded secrets. The show dives deep into the lives of those who’ve “made it” and those still struggling to climb the social ladder, blending generational wealth with juicy personal drama.
With Season 2 now confirmed, fans can expect even more twists, scandals, and revelations from the elite enclave that has captivated daytime audiences.
“Beyond The Gates” is part of CBS’s daytime roster alongside longtime hits “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.” It airs weekdays on CBS from 2:00–3:00 PM ET (1:00–2:00 PM PT), and is available for streaming on Paramount+ and the CBS app.

The series is a collaboration between CBS Studios and the NAACP, under the leadership of Sheila Ducksworth. Created and executive produced by Michele Val Jean, the show also counts Julie Carruthers, Tracey Thompson, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Kimberly Doebereiner, and Anna Saalfeld among its executive producers. It is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
