*Their marriage is past tense, but Apollo Nida and his estranged wife Sherien Copes remain on the drama radar with new legal drama for the former husband of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fixture Phaedra Parks.
For Nida, the ruckus comes with accusations of assault and infidelity from Copes, according to The Blast, which noted the failed marriage lasted more than year, from October 14, 2022 to November 1, 2023.
Despite admitting his union to Copes was unsavable, Nida maintained he never emotionally or physically abused her. The fitness trainer goes on to deny the infidelity, stating he remained faithful throughout their marriage and did not subject Copes to cruel treatment or abandonment.
Nida, who mentioned he is not seeking support from Copes and believes they have already divided their marital assets, filed a motion for restraint, noting his appearances on various reality shows and identifying himself as a public figure.
Mutual slander and character defamation potentially harming his and Copes’ legacies and financial prospects is a concern Nida voiced, with their young children caught in the crosshairs of the situation and possibly encountering negative comments. As a result, Nida requested the court to issue an order preventing he and Copes from disparaging each other in interviews or on television.

On top of everything else, Nida is disputing the date of his separation from Copes, arguing their split occurred in the fall of 2024 instead of 2023.
A settlement agreement Nida referenced confirmed no restraining order in place nor any history of physical violence, according to In Touch.
“I currently have no restraining order issued against me and [Sherien], and I have no history of physical violence. We have disagreements, but we have an amicable relationship with each other,” Nida stated.
The accusations against Nida mark the latest chapter in ongoing ups and downs in his relationship with Copes.
In March 2024, the public speaker was arrested for simple assault following an argument with Copes over accusations of infidelity. Copes alleged Nida pulled her hair and pushed her against a refrigerator, prompting her to seek help outside. Although Copes presented a video to the police, no evidence of a physical altercation was shown.
Nida countered Copes’ claims, stating he only attempted to retrieve his wife’s phone during their scuffle, He further noted that Copes was curled up on the ground when he met he. Despite his argument , Nida was arrested, booked and official charged with one misdemeanor count of simple battery/family violence. He was released on a $3,000 bond.
Despite their ups and downs, Copes continued denying cheating allegations and credited the incident with strengthening their marriage, paving the way for couples therapy.
As for Parks, her path is very different than Nida’s, with her coming back to “RHOA” after leaving the show following six seasons. Currently, the reality show veteran is featured on Peacock’s “The Traitors.”
