*Rondell Sheridan, the actor beloved for his role as Victor Baxter on “That’s So Raven,” is reaching out to fans for help as he faces a difficult health battle. In a heartfelt video shared from his hospital bed, Sheridan revealed he’s been diagnosed with pancreatitis and is now asking for financial assistance while he recovers, EW reports.
“Hey friends, it’s Rondell Sheridan here,” he begins in the clip (watch below). “On April 10, I was on the road and got sick. Went to the hospital and they thought it was gastric.” After being released and sent home, Sheridan says his condition quickly worsened, prompting a return to the hospital where doctors identified pancreatitis. “Tons of tests,” he explains. “I was in the hospital for nine days.”
Though initially hopeful, Sheridan found himself back under observation shortly after being discharged. “My pancreas is inflamed, and there’s not much you can do about it but just wait for the inflammation to go down,” he shares.
The extended recovery has taken him off the job indefinitely. “I didn’t realize that I was gonna be, and will be, out of work for quite some time,” Sheridan says, noting he’s launched a GoFundMe to help cover medical and living expenses. “If you have anything that you could donate, I would gladly appreciate it.”
His friend Isabel Beyoso expanded on the situation in the fundraiser description: “He will be mostly bedridden while in recovery… If we can all come together to help him financially… this will be one giant stress we can collectively take off his shoulders.”
