*Meghan Markle marked her return to Instagram on New Year’s Day, launching a personal account after years away from the platform.
The Duchess of Sussex shared a video filmed by Prince Harry on a Montecito beach, showing her writing “2025” in the sand. Comments on the post are disabled, but notable figures like Serena Williams and Chrissy Teigen liked the video. Watch the clip below.
The handle @meghan, secured since 2022, already had a significant following before her new post. Meghan’s return coincides with efforts to rebuild her personal and lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which launched on Instagram last year, though trademark issues have delayed product releases.
This relaunch also comes as Meghan and Harry face declining prominence in Hollywood. Their multimillion-dollar streaming deal set to expire in 2025, and the couple’s recent project, “Polo,” failed to generate significant interest.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the former actress announced her reality series, “With Love, Meghan,” coming to Netflix on January 15.

According to the streamer, “… we join Meghan in the kitchen, garden — and even at the beehive — as she prepares to host friends both old and new. Sharing some of her favorite tips and tricks for cooking, gardening, crafting, and more, Meghan reveals how even the most minute details can help add beauty to our lives and, most importantly, help bring people together. Whether it’s preparing take-home gifts for guests or adding a sprinkle of edible flowers to breakfast, it’s truly the thought that counts.”
“In each episode, Meghan invites friends old and new to roll up their sleeves and join her in the kitchen, garden, and beyond,” the series description continues. “Whether Meghan is sharing personal tips and tricks, or taking the opportunity to learn something new, it’s a time for connection. Guests include Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, with additional acclaimed chefs and special friends.”
