*Sean “Diddy” Combs, who faces a trial this year on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, has challenged prosecutors’ claims that his intimate, kinky encounters were exploitative and nonconsensual.
According to Deadline, Combs’ legal team argues that his relationship with the primary witness listed as Victim-I, identified as Cassie Ventura, was consensual and that the government is attempting to regulate private sexual behavior.
Referencing videos confiscated by the feds last year, Combs’ defense team stated in a letter sent Tuesday to Judge Arun Subramanian that “the videos show adults having consensual sex, plain and simple.”
“At bottom, this case is about whether Victim-I was or was not a willing participant in her private sex life with Mr. Combs. The videos confirm that she plainly was.”
Combs was arrested in September 2024 and is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The disgraced music producer has been denied bail despite offering $50 million. His defense, led by high-profile attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, continues to push back against allegations from Ventura and other alleged victims (male and female), portraying them as willing participants rather than victims.

“There is no evidence of any violence, coercion, threats, or manipulation whatsoever,” the letter adds of the “dark and grainy” sex tapes.
“There is no evidence that anyone is incapacitated or under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol consumption. There is certainly no evidence of sex trafficking,” Agnifilo and Geragos claim in the seven-page letter.
“Any fair-minded viewer of the videos will quickly conclude that the prosecution of Mr. Combs is both sexist and puritanical,” the attorneys added.
Diddy’s criminal trial is set for May 5, 2025. If convicted, it could result in a life sentence.
In addition to this case, Combs is facing numerous sexual assault lawsuits, including one involving rapper JAY-Z.
