*A convicted child rapist, Michael Blount, was indicted on January 1 after allegedly attempting to kill his ex-girlfriend.
TooFab reports that Blount, 29, who served time for his previous sex crime in 2013, began harassing the woman and her daughters last month. Prosecutors say that on November 5, Blount followed the family from a deli in Harlem to the A-train station before returning to the deli to purchase a razor blade. He went back to the subway platform and attacked the 37-year-old woman, attempting to slash her throat while striking her face, the New York Post reports.
Blount allegedly “brutally slashed his ex-girlfriend before pushing her onto the train tracks in front of her teenage daughters,” per District Attorney Alvin Bragg in a statement.
“Despite what must have been a terrifying attack, one of her daughters was able to pull her mother from the tracks, likely saving her life,” he continued.
The woman was pulled from the tracks two minutes before the train arrived. She traveled by cab to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital for treatment. Her injuries were so severe that she required plastic surgery.
