Coldplay kiss cam catches execs in concert cuddle crisis
*Let it be known: when you’re the CEO of a billion-dollar company, the kiss cam is not your friend.
Just ask Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, and his very chummy Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot.
At Coldplay’s July 16 Boston show, these two business besties were caught mid-snuggle on the jumbotron.
The crowd got a show. Their spouses got… probably a long phone call.

Chris Martin’s joke lands better than Astronomer’s PR strategy
Leave it to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to throw gasoline on the awkward bonfire. As the couple panicked on screen, Martin mused:
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”
The audience erupted. The internet exploded. Somewhere in corporate HR land, a “crisis communication” doc was opened, sighed at, and promptly ignored.
Social media reacts with jokes, memes, and moral panic
Within hours, TikTok was flooded with clips of the moment. X users added commentary like “the internet’s biggest scandal” and “Coldplaygate.”
One post read, “Hotel: $200, Tickets: $600, Divorce Attorney: $50,000. Getting caught cheating on a kiss cam: Priceless.” Brutal. But accurate.

Who are Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot? And do their spouses have WiFi?
Andy Byron has been CEO of Astronomer since July 2023. He’s married to Megan Kerrigan, who reportedly scrubbed “Byron” from her socials after the concert. Subtle, Megan. Real subtle.
Kristin Cabot joined Astronomer in November 2024 and is married to Kenneth C. Thornby, who we can assume did not enjoy his evening scrolling Instagram.
Astronomer goes silent, internet fills the gap
No comment from Byron, Cabot, or Astronomer. Because when you’re trending for “kiss cam affair,” silence is definitely the move, right?
The company also ignored media requests, possibly hoping the internet has the attention span of a goldfish. (Spoiler: it doesn’t.)
Is this just workplace drama or a full-on PR meltdown?
The video sparked debates about office romance, power dynamics, and whether “Chief People Officer” means “Chief Flirtation Officer.”
Some critics are asking if favoritism or workplace toxicity is brewing at Astronomer. Others just want more memes and popcorn.
Coldplay concert gives tech execs more than they bargained for
The takeaway? If you’re planning an affair, maybe don’t do it in front of 65,000 people—and Coldplay’s lead singer.
As one user put it: “You go to hear ‘Fix You,’ not watch a marriage break in real time.”
The drama just keeps orbiting around Astronomer
In a twist of cosmic irony, Astronomer—yes, a company about data orchestration—is now best known for a front-row seat to infidelity on the big screen. At least now we know what they mean by “a sky full of stars and a sky full of drama.”
