*Season 2 of the popular BET+ series ‘Kingdom Business” returned with more excitement, drama, and, of course, Gospel music.
EUR talked with the ladies of the cast, Yolanda Adams, Loretta Devine, Seraya, La’Myia Good, and Kiandra Richardson, to discuss some of their favorite onscreen confrontations.
Yolanda Adams’s character Denita runs Kingdom Records and is the label’s biggest star. Adams shared what she loves about the character and some of her favorite battles in season two.
“Oh my gosh. First of all, Denita is confrontational. It’s weird because, as we’ve stated before, we have such love and passion about what we do on this set, and having to go from Oh, I love you so much, and then you turn around, and it’s action. You have to appreciate the fact that “CJ (Kiandra Harris)” is stepping up to the plate. And she’s using some of my stuff on me.
Adams continued breaking down “Rebel,” Seraya’s character. “I see a little bit of me in her, but I can’t tell her I see some of me in her. I don’t have anything against her, and everybody’s trying to make this about me being jealous. I want her away from my husband.” Adams wrapped up by discussing the complicated situation between Denita and her mother, played by Loretta Devine. “My mom and I have this weird relationship because I love her so much, but she just grinds my nerves by saying little stuff and then acts like she didn’t say it.”
“So I love all of it because you know it stretches you as an actress, and it also lets you know the humanity and all of it that we all have these places in our lives where we do have this confrontation and some somebody wants to confront and then some we don’t so I don’t have a favorite it’s just I love the period.”
