*The joy of marital bliss has turned tragic for a Roxboro, North Carolina man, who was killed in front of his new bride on their wedding day.
Media sources revealed that Tyrek Burton, a 37-year-old father of four, had been married to Kiara Holloway for only seven hours before his death. Authorities believe Burton’s passing may have resulted from a road rage incident.
Developments leading to the tragedy show the fatal shooting occurred on October 12 at Barber Park Event Center in Greensboro, shortly after the wedding reception had ended.
Family members recall a stranger approaching them, alleging that Burton had been involved in a traffic-related altercation. From there, the situation escalated, with the patriarch fatally shot in front of his new bride, one of his daughters, and other witnesses.

Reacting to her brother’s death, Brittany Burton voiced her disbelief over what happened.
“I don’t understand how someone who doesn’t even know him could just come in and do that. It’s heartbreaking and makes no sense,” she said.
Burton’s mother, Carolyn Burton, echoed her daughter’s grief and frustration in demanding swift justice for her son.
“He waited 13 years to marry his bride, and he didn’t even get the chance to take her home, she stated. “It’s just not fair.”
At this time, Burton’s family is focused on holding his shooter accountable for ending the life of someone they viewed as a loving husband, father, and friend on what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of his life.

Details surrounding potential suspects have not been released by law enforcement. A GoFundMe page has been established to support Burton’s wife and four daughters, with funds raised going toward helping the family cope with the father’s death while navigating the challenges ahead due to the loss.
