*Sean Combs is reportedly refusing to eat while incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York. Holding fears that someone may poison his food, Combs’ current situation has raised considerable concern amongst those inside and outside the justice system.
As we reported, Combs a/k/a Diddy, was arrested on September 16 on multiple serious charges including sex trafficking and conspiracy to engage in prostitution, and he is currently being held without bail. His case has drawn national attention, partly due to his celebrity status, which has led to him being placed on suicide watch in a Special Housing Unit designed for VIP inmates, reports Sandra Rose.
Last week, Combs faced a significant setback as two different federal judges denied his bond requests, despite assurances from his legal team that he would adhere to strict surveillance protocols at his home in Miami.
Larry Levine, founder of Wall Street Prison Consultants, shared insight into Combs’ fears during a discussion with NewsNation host Ashley Banfield. Levine claims that an inside source within the MDC has confirmed that Combs has ceased eating due to the anxiety that someone might attempt to poison him.
This unsettling claim received further gravity when former music executive Suge Knight, currently serving a lengthy sentence, issued a chilling warning on his podcast, “Collect Call.”
“I’ll tell you what, Puffy: Your life is in danger ’cause you know the secrets, who’s involved in that little secret room you guys are participating in,” Knight said in a recent episode of the podcast.
In addition to Knight’s warnings, former MDC warden Cameron Lindsay has echoed concerns for Combs’ safety, asserting that the notoriously violent environment of the detention center poses real risks no matter how isolated he may be. Even within the Special Housing Unit, individuals may find ways to harm him, particularly through tampering with his food. Lindsay noted the logistical challenges of delivering meals (to Combs’ cell) which are “not fresh” and can arrive cold after being transported a considerable distance from the kitchen.
The MDC has a dark reputation, with a history of violence, murders, and suicides overshadowing its walls. High-profile inmates such as R. Kelly, Ghislaine Maxwell, and even former President Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen have been housed there, drawing further notoriety to the facility. The MDC’s notoriety reached a tragic peak with the suicide of financier Jeffrey Epstein at another MDC jail in 2019, raising public scrutiny regarding the treatment and safety of inmates in such high-stakes situations.
As Sean Combs navigates this perilous chapter, his refusal to eat may be a reflection not only of physical fears but also of the psychological toll that incarceration takes on individuals known for their fame, influence, and wealth. The coming weeks will undoubtedly reveal more about Combs’ case and the ongoing concerns surrounding his safety within the MDC.
