*More than a decade after calling out his father Al B. Sure! for his absence over the years, Quincy Brown has good news to share about their relationship.

Media sources at Essence report Brown revealed he just spoke with the 56-year-old Rescue Me vocalist recently when B. Sure! congratulated him on his recent album, “ETA.” As it stands, now, Brown is currently “cool” with his famous dad.

“It’s a cool relationship,” Brown said when asked about the status of his relationship with B. Sure!. “He tends to try to do like the dad thing a lot, but it’s like, that’s not really where we’re at in life. We homies, more than anything,”

As the interview continued, the 33-year-old entertainer, who was born to the late Kim Porter and B. Sure! in 1991, stated that the nature of their relationship is to hang out and do things together.

On social media, the pair were recently seen together at the Black Excellence Brunch, which took place at the White House.

“I feel like that’s where we’re getting at now is actually knowing that we’re two grown men. We can talk about anything and everything. It’s not about anything else,” he concluded.

Brown’s improved standing with B. Sure comes after his open letter generated headlines in 2009 when he declared Sean “Diddy” Combs as a “father figure” in his life. Presently, Combs is involved in legal drama  that resulted after federal agents in New York City arrested him for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

“Albert Brown, also known as ‘Al B Sure!’ is my biological father, but Sean Combs, also known as ‘Diddy’ has been a father figure in my life for as long as I can remember. Sean Combs is the person whom I look up to and appreciate as a father,” he said in the lengthy open letter at the time.

In March, B. Sure! took to social media amid what is happening with Combs to write a short open letter to his son, reminding Brown that his doors are wide open.

“#LettertoMySon! Come Home. The [door] is wide open. You’re safe here, son! I Love you, Popz, Your Biological,”the “ Nite and Day” crooner wrote in a caption.
