*UFC fighter Jon Jones is under investigation amid accusations that he assaulted and threatened a sports doping agent.

According to Albuquerque news outlet ABQ RAW, the Albuquerque Police Department received a complaint from the drug tester who was taking samples from Jones at his home.

The drug tester, Crystal Martinez, a Drug-Free Sport International sample collection worker, filed the complaint last week over the incident that occurred in March. Martinez claims Jones appeared to be “extremely intoxicated” when she and another agent arrived at his home, and he allegedly threatened to kill them for unknown reasons.

According to police, Martinez claims Jones initially cooperated but couldn’t provide a urine sample. The situation allegedly escalated when Martinez suggested a blood test, prompting Jones to threaten legal action and seize her phone to record a video. The complaint describes him as being confrontational and uttering threats, causing the drug testers to fear for their safety.

Jones posted to Instagram on March 6, denying the accusations and accusing the agents of “unprofessionalism.”

“I want to address reports about me allegedly threatening a drug tester’s life and taking a phone,” Jones captioned a video showing the drug testers leaving his home. “I want to clarify that there is a video showing both drug testers leaving my home after the testing session, where we exchanged a high five and a hug.”

He continued, “Although I was frustrated with the unprofessionalism and used profanity out of frustration it ended friendly and amicably, nothing threatening at all. I was actually celebrating a friend’s birthday party at my home, and I believe it’s perfectly normal to celebrate in the comfort of my own home.I must say, this particular tester behaved quite unprofessionally and even breached standard protocol along with HIPAA laws. Throughout my 20 years of being subjected to drug tests, I have never encountered such an incident with a DCO officer before.”

In another report, Jones said he was “bothered a little because he had been hungover from the night before,” but denied threatening to kill the drug testers.

He added, “Tell everyone at headquarters not to send people to my home so early because it could be a dangerous environment.”
