*Al B. Sure! made his first public appearance Monday at the American Liver Foundation’s National Legacy Gala in New York after calling for an investigation into the death of his and Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-partner, Kim Porter.
The R&B singer accepted an award for his work in health equity, Page Six reports. During his speech he acknowledged Homeland Security, the agency that detained Diddy last month, saying, “We even have Homeland Security in the building. Detective Jackson, good to see you.”
According to insiders, Sure! has “stepped up his security immeasurably” after calling for an investigation into Porter’s death, per Page Six. The music legend has indirectly implicated Combs, calling Porter’s death a “tragic murder.” According to a medical examiner, she died from natural causes.
Brown suggested in a post that Porter’s passing may have something to do with a tell-all book she was allegedly writing about Combs. He recently sent a cease-and-desist letter to Amazon and the author of a “fake” memoir about Porter.
Brown is the founder of the Health Equity in Transplantation Coalition, an organization dedicated to dismantling barriers in transplantation and promoting health equity for underserved communities. On social media, he made cryptic posts suggesting Combs may have played a role in his 2022 coma.
“I was in a coma on a ventilator for 38 days. I was intubated, septic and had multi-system organ failure,” Brown told the crowd of his near-death experience. “And simultaneously, while undergoing such a massive life-saving liver transplant. I decided to make a decision to get up and fight, to advocate for all transplant patients around the world…So come one, come all, whether you had a transplant, you require one or just wish to be on my new jack team of transplant trailblazer warriors.”
During his speech, Sure! announced that he has a forthcoming memoir titled “Before Coma, After Coma: The Al. B! Sure Story.”
Meanwhile, we reported earlier that Combs is facing numerous accusations of sexual assault by women and men. He is currently being held without bond in a Brooklyn jail following his arrest last month on federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
Per Page Six, prosecutors claimed Diddy “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct” for decades, “creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in … sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.”
Combs pleaded not guilty and denied all accusations against him. He remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting trial. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.
