*Tiffany Haddish addressed her latest DUI arrest during a stand-up show at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, California.
In audio obtained by TMZ from Friday night’s show, when asked about her arrest, Haddish jokingly replied, “I had prayed to God to send me a man with a job, career, preferably in a uniform, and I answered my prayers,” she said, per the recording (listen to the clip above).
We reported previously via CNN that Haddish was arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department. She was arrested shortly after.
According to TMZ, Haddish was not involved in an accident but was allegedly found asleep in her parked vehicle with the car running.
The “Girls Trip” star was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in 2022 in Peachtree City, Georgia after she fell asleep at the wheel, per CNN. Haddish later addressed the incident during an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”
“I can say this, Jimmy… I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four… in uniform.”
She added, “And now I got a really great lawyer, and we’re going to work it out. I’ve got to get my asking of things to God a little better!”
Meanwhile, Haddish is facing a million-dollar defamation lawsuit filed by former friend Trizah Morris, RadarOnline reports.
Morris is the mother of the two (now-adult) children who appeared in the controversial pedophile skit featuring Haddish and fellow comedian Aries Spears. Morris sued over the skit, and the case was ultimately settled for $15,000, but when Haddish deemed Morris an extortionist, she filed a million-dollar suit against the star for defamation.
