*Shirley Strawberry has renewed her morning show contract with Steve Harvey for $5 million over five years, according to SandraRose.com.
The outlet reports that Strawberry was earning an estimated $400,000 in 2022 as co-host of the syndicated “Steve Harvey Morning Show.” The radio personality is said to be struggling financially due to her incarcerated estranged husband Ernesto Williams’ legal issues, fraudulent activities, and debts that she’s paying off.
Shirley became homeless in 2022 until she was taken in by friends, according to the report.
We reported previously that a leaked phone call from October 2022 reveals Strawberry telling her jailed husband that his legal expenses are making it difficult for her to buy a simple pair of shoes. As a result, Strawberry tells Williams that he needs to “get all this stuff in order.”
“But, yeah, when you get outta there we gotta just get all this stuff in order. This is just too much, too much,” the radio personality told her husband. “You can’t be moving like you’re moving, and your stuff isn’t in order, you know?”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Strawberry outlines how much time he has been behind bars since they’ve been married.
“That’s why you got picked up because you had warrants,” she stated. “We’ve been married 8 years. You’ve been to jail – what – three times in 8 years? You’ve gotta get this stuff taken care of… It’s a lot on me — it’s a lot on you too, I know, but this is a lot.”
Sandra Rose noted how strained Strawberry’s relationship has become, with her revealing the reason she can’t buy a pair of shoes is because she’s “running out of money.”
“Well, what you been doing?” Williams asked.
Strawberry replied, “paying for you… I’m not rich!”
Shirley is allegedly in the process of annulling her marriage to Ernesto.
