*In its first consumer-product licensing deal in the casino and gambling sector, Netflix has announced its forthcoming “Squid Game” slot machine.

The slot game, by gaming company Light & Wonder, is based on the South Korean survival drama series “Squid Game.”

Per Variety, the slot machines “will integrate several iconic (and deadly) games from the show such as Red Light, Green Light; Tug of War; and the Glass Tile,” the outlet writes. The top prize starts at between $200,000 and $400,000.

The ‘Squid Game’ slot machines are expected to arrive in casinos in 2024.

Meanwhile, the streaming giant has released a trailer for “Squid Game: The Challenge,” a reality show based on the “Squid Game” series.

The description of the series states: “Squid Games” centers on hundreds of players “who accept a strange invitation to compete in children’s games. Inside, a tempting prize awaits — with deadly high stakes.”

Per Variety, the game show will see contestants compete in games inspired by the show — minus the death.  A total of 456 contestants from around the world will compete for $4.56 million, the largest cash prize in the history of reality TV, as reported by Complex

“Though the reality version of ‘Squid Game‘ isn’t a matter of life or death, there’s still a lot on the line,” reads the show’s logline, Variety reports. “456 players will compete to win $4.56 million, the largest cash prize in reality television history. Through a series of games, each player will be pushed to their limits and forced to ask themselves just how far they’ll go to win, with opportunistic alliances, cutthroat strategies and timely betrayals to follow.”

The upcoming competition series has been dubbed “the biggest reality competition series ever,” according to Netflix’s head of global TV, Bela Bajaria.

“Squid Game: The Challenge” is set to drop on Nov. 22. Watch the trailer below.

In related news, Netflix will open a pop-up immersive experience called “Squid Game: The Trials” in Los Angeles on Dec. 6.

During the 70-minute game, players will take part in six different challenges. Ticket prices start at $39 each. Click here for more information.
