*We caught up with Shanley Caswell to learn what fans can expect from her character’s journey on the third season of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” which debuted Dec. 1 on STARZ.

“Season three picks up right where season two ends. So you’re going to see her continuing her pursuit of proving that she is right about what she knows, and you see the consequences of her pursuit this season,” Caswell told us exclusively about her character, Detective Burke.

“Most of her dynamic is with Detective Howard and the pressure between those two partners. And so we see that come to a head this season, from all those pressures,” she continued.

According to the press release, season 3 of “continues to tell the origin story of fan-favorite character Kanan Stark (MeKai Curtis), originally played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in the flagship series, delving further into his evolution from the devoted son of Raquel “Raq” Thomas (Patina Miller) into the eventual ferocious, amoral and pragmatic personality fans know from “Power.” Season three picks up where we left off, in Southside Jamaica Queens with the Thomas family in turmoil and reeling from the Mob’s coordinated attack on Raquel, Marvin and Lou-Lou. After her close call, Raquel is looking to make a fresh start, but Kanan doesn’t trust her or believe it when she says she’s done. Can she really be out of the game?”

“There’s a lot of things happening this season that are out of her control,” Miller said of her character in a EUR exclusive.

“Her son is doing his own thing. She has to deal with her son and her baby daddy in alignment and what that means. Howard is not going away,” Miller added. “They’re in this thing together where they have to keep their secret under wraps because Howard’s job is affected. It’s dangerous for everyone. If anything happens, they’re all less safe.”

“Power Book III: Raising Kanan” is the second series in the expanded “Power” Universe franchise. The “Power” Universe series is executive produced by the creator and showrunner of the original “Power,” Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Mark Canton.

In our exclusive conversation with MeKai Curtis, the actor said of Kanan … “He’s going to have to deal with obstacles and re-directions and truth that he didn’t see coming and truth that he did see coming.”

“It is all about how he puts one foot in front of the other and keeps his mind on his ultimate goal of finding the truth, which is finding who he’s right now,” Curtis continued, adding, “because his sense of self and his sense of world has been shaken up, jumbled and destroyed in the last two seasons.”

In addition to Caswell, Miller and Curtis, “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” stars Omar Epps as “Detective Malcolm Howard,” London Brown as “Marvin Thomas,” Malcolm Mays as “Lou-Lou Thomas,” Hailey Kilgore as “Jukebox,” Joey Bada$$ as “Unique,” and Antonio Ortiz as “Famous,” with Grantham Coleman joining the cast as “Ronnie” this season.

Italian mob boss Stefano (Tony Danza) returns with newbies Wendell Pierce and Erika Woods this season.

When asked what she’s most excited about fans experiencing with this new season, Caswell said, “I’m excited for them to experience Grantham Cole, who’s being introduced this season. He’s an incredible actor. He’s insanely creepy. He does very little, and you’re just horrified. I’m excited for him to be introduced and also for them to see Tony Danza,” she told EUR.
