*A Tennessee news anchor proposed to his girlfriend of four years on-air and video of the sweet moment has gone viral.
Cornelia Nicholson unknowingly introduced her own surprise proposal during a new segment at NBC affiliate WRCB. Her boyfriend, Riley Nagel, appeared on set with a bouquet of flowers and recited a loving message for the “very special report.”
“I thought it’d be fitting to ask you this question here, since we met in news,” said Nagel, who also works at WRCB as a reporter, per People. “Cornelia Nicholson, would you marry me?”
“I’m going to cry!” Nicholson said before saying yes.
As People reports, the couple met in Montana nearly four years ago while working at a different news station.
“You have such an amazing personality,” Nagel said during the proposal. “You’re so bright, and you always light up a room when you come in, and make everyone laugh.”
Nagel also praised his lady love for “always pushing me to do better.”
“You’re one of the reasons, or pretty much the main reason I’m still in news today,” he said in the clip.
The segment was uploaded to Nicholson’s TikTok with the caption: “@Riley Nagel hid this so well,” she wrote. “I am so excited for our future together.”
The video has received over 4 million views.
In the comments section of the surprise proposal video on YouTube, one person wrote, “That was fantastic dude! Grats on her saying yes. You’re both awesome reporters, and you both seem like genuinely good people. Happy for ya!”
Another added, “The absolute sweetest thing ever. I wish you both so much happiness.”
A third commenter wrote, “I’m crying, this is so beautiful, may the happy couple enjoy a beautiful marriage! CONGRATS!”
