Old School MC Nikki D Calls Ice Spice ‘Prostitution Rap’

*Old school rapper Nikki D is speaking out about what she has coined the “prostitution era of rap.”

“When I call it the prostitution era, it’s simply what I saw with the [Ice Spice] performance, right?” Nikki said in an interview with All Hip Hop.  She is referring to Ice Spice dressing as the iconic cartoon character Betty Boop.

The rapper sported a black bob and a risqué red dress that exposed her bootyliciousness throughout her performance at Power 105.1’s on Oct. 28 in Newark, NJ (see the clip below). However, many hip-hop fans were not impressed. 

As Vibe reports, Nikki D previously commented, “Oh come TF on!!! You mean to tell me, this is true talent.. the Female genre of hip hop today is the ‘prostitution era’, fight me!!,” she wrote on social media. 

Another critic wrote on Instagram, “Are you selling your music or a** cause I’m confused.”

Speaking to All Hip Hop, Nikki D explained, “I saw the video online and I said, ‘What is this?’ ” she said of the Ice Spice performance.

“I looked at it and shorty’s dress was literally above her butt. And I was like nothing was out but skin a-s, like this is not the girl that I remember,” Nikki D continued. “I felt like she had kind of pushed herself into a place of no return. Now when you out there it’s like walking outside, butt-nekkid, what else do we have?”

As SandraRose.com reports, Nikki said rappers like Sexyy Red, Sukihana, and Megan Thee Stallion leave nothing to the imagination.

“Where’s the surprise? Where’s the mystery?,” she said, noting that every lyric from the raunchy female rappers today focuses on “my P, my a-s, my this, my that. And they’re raised differently in this generation, just in general just as people, not even as artists,” Nikki D explained.
