New Jersey Judge Under Investigation for ‘Inappropriate’ TikTok Videos

*A New Jersey judge is being investigated for posting profane and vulgar videos on TikTok.

Bergen County Superior Court Judge Gary Wilcox, 58, used an alias on the video-sharing platform when he posted dozens of clips of himself partially nude and rapping along to raunchy hip-hop songs, SandraRose.com reports.

The NJ Judiciary said Wilcox exercised “poor judgment” when he shared clips showing him lip-syncing to songs by Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Ginuwine, according to the New York Post. Several videos under his TikTok alias “Sal Tortorella”  also show him wearing his judicial robe in the courthouse.

In one video, the judge is wearing a Beavis and Butthead T-shirt while lipsynching a rap song in the courthouse.

Another video reportedly shows Wilcox lipsynching: “All my life, I’ve been waiting for somebody to whoop my a–. I mean business! You think you can run up on me and whip my monkey a–? Come on. Come on!”

The complaint claims the judge “exhibited poor judgment and demonstrated disrespect for the Judiciary and an inability to conform to the high standards of conduct expected of judges.”

He allegedly posted 40 TikTok videos between April 2021 and March 2023, according to the formal complaint from the state Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct.

Wilcox’s TikTok had around 100 followers before it was deleted, according to the complaint.
