*MC Lyte is officially divorced from John Wyche and luckily for her, as part of their prenup, she gets to keep her music catalog.

We reported previously that the hip-hop icon said she was “very distraught” after her short-lived marriage to Wyche ended in divorce in 2020.

Lyte and Wyche were engaged in May 2017 and married three months later — but their union was not meant to be a happily ever after.

“It’s hard in the beginning, but you realize to have happiness doesn’t mean you have to remain together, and it doesn’t mean that you are a failure because the marriage failed,” Lyte said during her 2022 appearance on “The Real.”

“It’s all ego. You just have to be able to let go,” she added.

As The Blast reports, in the court docs, the ex-couple’s marriage was dissolved due to “irreconcilable differences.”

“Irreconcilable differences have arisen between the parties, which have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, making it impossible for the parties to live together as husband and wife,” reads the official documents.

Lyte and Wyche had a prenup that will be upheld, according to the report. In the divorce, “MC Lyte keeps her clothing, jewelry, watches, and personal effects in her possession, custody, or control, and earnings and accumulations before the date of marriage, during the marriage, and post-separation, her Subaru, financial accounts in her name, all furniture, furnishings, and other personal property in her possession, custody, or control.  She also gets to keep her term life insurance policy.”

Additionally, she “gets to keep her music catalogs, and other creative property, including royalties in connection her creative works.”

Lyte and Wyche are also waiving their right to spousal support.
