*LeBron James is teaming up with Peyton Manning and Barack and Michelle Obama for a quarterback-style NBA docuseries.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will follow professional basketball players. “The format would bring the same approach to the NBA that Omaha’s Quarterback brought to the NFL,” the outlet writes.
The NBA will be involved in the show, which will likely debut on Netflix, where the Obamas’ Higher Ground production company has a first-look deal. A premiere date has not been announced.
There is no word yet on which players will be featured in the series.
In related news, we reported previously that Nike will launch James’ first signature training shoe, the Royalty TR, during Fall 2024.
According to Sneaker Files, “the shoes will resemble the Nike Metcon line,” the outlet writes, with “co-branding from LeBron and Nike throughout.”
Three colorways have been confirmed. Per Sneaker Files: “This includes Smoke Grey, Volt, Black, Lt Smoke Grey, and White; the second features Black, Anthracite, and Smoke Grey.”
The last pair, according to the outlet, “is dressed in Volt, Bright Mandarin, Hot Punch, and Metallic Silver.”
The announcement coincides with the recent release of Nike’s LeBron 21 “Purple Rain” in a purple and gold design, dubbed the “Freshwater” colorway. The color scheme is a nod to the Los Angeles Lakers.
