*In a recent interview with “Rolling Stone,” Hollywood icon Pam Grier discussed her acting career and decades-long legacy. She also revealed she admires Black women singers who have been trying their hands at acting as well.
When still in her prime in the ’70s, Grier starred in famous blaxploitation films such as “Foxy Brown” and “Coffy” (trailer above) as an actress and sex symbol. Her cross-generational and layered influence is widely believed to have inspired many current notable female rappers.
During the interview, the 73-year-old industry veteran also revealed she is writing a script for a movie in which she wants Cardi B to star.
“I’m writing something for me and Cardi B,” Grier said. “I love Cardi and ‘WAP.’”

Grier also name-dropped some other female stars she admires.
“She [Megan Thee Stallion] and Lizzo and Nicki Minaj and some of the others, they know — you gotta make your own style. You get to hire people later. But you come up with your own stuff, then you just draw people like a magnet, so collaborators make you greater and greater,” she said.
It would not be the first time the “Money” rapper lands an acting role to showcase her acting skills — if ever she gets casted in Grier’s upcoming film. Cardi has already starred in the films “Hustlers” (2019) and “Fast 9” (2021).
