*In the aftermath of an apparent shooting ambush, aspiring rapper Julio Foolio is recovering from a foot injury from the incident.
Sandra Rose reports the drill rhymester, born Charles Jones, was shot in his left foot on Oct. 7. Afterward, Jones posted a graphic photo of the foot. The picture, which shows rods inserted in the foot to stabilize the bones, was included with an update from Jones. A caption of the photo quoted a lyric from the rapper’s song, “Been Dead.”
“All this money on my head I ‘posed to been dead. All this money on my head I ‘posed to been dead,” the caption read. In the image, Jones’ foot is heavily wrapped in gauze and an Ace bandage.
“It appears that the suspect or suspects were waiting for the victim and ambushed him.” The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated.
News of the foot injury and its accompanying photo, which currently occupies Twitter / X, comes after Jones was taken to U.F. Health Jacksonville Hospital in serious but stable condition.
Despite Jones’ foot being saved by doctors, rumors mentioned that doctors amputated his foot.
Currently, police have no suspects. Speaking to First Coast News, sources tell the outlet that Jones is not cooperating with the authorities.
Jones’ mother went public on Jones’ Instagram Stories with a request to fans to pray for her son.
“Keep Foolio, my son, in y’all prayers he was shot last night in his hating city,” she wrote in his Instagram Stories.
The ambush and shooting marks the latest incident in which Jones has been targeted by enemies. The 23-year-old rapper, whose music is noted for glorifying gang violence and drug dealing, was previously shot and wounded in Houston, Texas in July 2020.
On Nov. 8, 2021, Jones was shot after getting out of his vehicle in Riverside. He went live on Instagram hours after the shooting, stating, “I shot back in self-defense. Y’all dumb.
“My gun is registered,” he continued. “If I did something illegal, the police would put me in jail. A ni–a did miss a whole hundred shots though. I know they sick right now, whoever did it… They must’ve thought I was lackin’ for sure.”
