Chappelle Selfie w/Boebert Becomes Anti-trans Tweet — Did He Torpedo His Career? | VIDEO

*Funnyman Dave Chappelle says he was “tricked” by controversial GOP Congresswoman Lauren Boebert.  Well Dave, guess whose fault that is?

If you’re wondering what’s going on. Here is the deal. Chappelle said yes to taking a selfie with the Colorado rep at the Capitol on Thursday (11-30-23). Of course, he could’ve said no but he was just trying to be a nice guy.

You see, what he didn’t know was that Boebert didn’t waste any time turning it into a political, anti-trans message on X/Twitter.

The pic which also included Republica Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna was captioned by Boebert, saying: “Just three people who understand that there’s only two genders.”

As you no doubt know, the comedian has not exactly walked away from accusations of embracing transphobia in his stage act, he is said to be perturbed with what Boebert wrote.

At Chappelle’s DC show, he said he agreed to the photo request by Boebert as a way to bridge the political divide but felt her actions “blindsided” him, according to Call to Activism, a progressive blog.

“It’s a shame she tricked me,” Chappelle said. “I had two tickets to ’Beetlejuice’ and I was going to give her one!”

Now, for those who haven’t kept up Boebert and the” Beetlejuice” reference, it was what happened at a “Beetlejuice” musical play date in Denver that led to public scorn rightfully being heaped on the Republican Congresswoman. She and her date were ejected from the performance for groping, vaping, and talking during the show.

Regarding the comic’s reaction to Boebert’s action, here is what a spokesperson told Huff Post on Friday that Chappelle “can be ticked all he wants. That’s the reality of the situation. There are only two genders,”
