*The girlfriend of NFL star Cam Newton is reacting to criticism over her decision to have a baby with a man who has seven other children.
Page Six reports Newton, 34, has five kids with ex-fiancée Kia Proctor and two with La Reina Shaw. The former Carolina Panthers quarterback is also the father of Proctor’s daughter Shakira from a previous relationship.
In a recent post, his girlfriend, comedian Jasmin Brown, listed her upcoming comedy tour dates and the title “Baby Momma 3.” Many fans and followers quickly slammed her for getting knocked up when Cam has so many other young kids.
According to Essence, Brown also shared a video of Newton and his children playing hide-and-seek. She captioned the post: “Why would you ever be with someone with 5 young children?” she wrote along with an eye roll emoji and added, “5x the love. 5x the fun. 5x the positive impact I get to have on their lives.”
Cam and Brown initially kept their relationship on the low after first being spotted together in 2021, Essence reports.

“I’m a proud father of seven,” Newton previously wrote on Instagram. “A Daddy isn’t defined as the man who makes the child.”
He added, “Blood doesn’t always make you DADDY being a dad comes from the heart.”
In the post’s comments, Cam caught heat from critics who slammed him for having multiple children out of wedlock. Others praised the athlete for “being a good father” to his brood.
