Burger King Gave Kevin Ford A Goodie Bag After 27 Years of Perfect Attendance – $400K So Far Raised Via GoFundMe

*Last year, Kevin Ford, who worked at Burger King for 27 years, was celebrated by the company for his perfect attendance. A video of the 54-year-old Ford during the celebration event went viral, but not because it was a spectacular event. Instead, it went viral because it was far from being a spectacular event!

Millions of viewers felt the employer didn’t go far enough to ensure the event was elaborate when thanking Ford — a long-time Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport Burger King staff member. The gesture wasn’t worth the steady effort and loyalty Ford had put in for the company for close to 3 decades. But still, the viewers were impressed with his humble attitude.

In the video (above), Ford can be seen receiving a bagful of candy, a movie ticket, a lanyard, a Starbucks cup, two pens and keychains for his service. The company might not have appreciated him appropriately, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t be appreciated elsewhere.

Once he gained national attention for his humility, his daughter Seryna Ford took advantage of that and started a GoFundMe campaign. She explained on the fundraising page why her father was not just a gracious employee but was also a great family man. She stated that her father “began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of my older sister and me 27 years ago.”

Soon, the amount shot to $200,000. The story of Ford continued to attract the attention of more well-wishers and it didn’t take long for the campaign to get to almost $400,000!

Seryna also explained on the fundraising page that her father worked for years at Burger King because the company provided “amazing health insurance.” With the benefits, he managed to get his four daughters through high school and college. She also pointed towards the end of her statement that donations to her father were welcome but not necessarily needed. She reminded them that her father was close to retirement and would be happy to see his grandchildren if people donated.

Her father’s wish to see his grandchildren came to pass. He was hosted on “Today,” where he reunited with his daughter and three grandchildren, whom he hadn’t seen for many years. He was understandably overcome by the kind gestures and support the world has been to him.

“My dad deserves the world. He gave me the world,” Seryna explained during the touching segment. “My dad made me the person I am today.”

Back then, Ford said he was spending the donations on his grandkids’ college fund. The GoFundMe donations now near $400,000. Ford was once again a guest on Today after the show selected him as one of the “Can’t-Miss People of 2022.”

He said his main mission with the donation is to pay it forward.

“When I’m in a store now and there’s people, especially single mothers or something, I tell them to ring up everybody. I pay for everybody’s food,” he said. “Every day that I wake up, I’m excited … about spreading the love and showing people that that human spirit is still alive and well, and that I’m proof of it.”

He has been able to enjoy quality time with his grandchildren, taking them even on dream vacations. Ford has finally managed to visit Mount Everest, which had always been on his bucket list.

But he has not quit his job so as to bask in his new-found glory and fame: he is still a loyal employee at Burger King and still hasn’t missed a shift.
