*”Basketball Wives” star Brittish Williams will spend the next four years in federal prison after being convicted for tax fraud, bank fraud, and PPP loan fraud.

“Brittish Williams was getting paid to portray her celebrity lifestyle on Basketball Wives when in fact she was a typical fraudster,” FBI Special Agent in Charge Jay Greenberg said in a press release. “After today’s sentencing, her reality is now a life of a felon.”

After a federal judge in St. Louis, Missouri, sentenced Williams on Oct. 24, a female member of her entourage lashed out at a journalist outside the courtroom — and it was caught on camera (see below).

We reported previously that Williams pleaded guilty to 15 felonies in the case. She was indicted in 2021 on federal fraud and identity theft charges, the U.S. Attorney’s Office Eastern District of Missouri said in a press release.

According to RadarOnline, she pleaded guilty in May to five counts of misuse of a Social Security number, four counts of bank fraud, three counts of making false statements to the IRS, and three counts of wire fraud.

The majority of Williams’ charges stem from financial crimes committed during Covid-19.

“British Williams has admitted an unusually large number of frauds that victimized taxpayers, banks, credit card companies, individuals, and programs that were intended to help struggling businesses and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic,” U.S. Attorney Sayler Fleming previously said.

“This is a first step towards justice for those victims,” he added. “We will also be seeking repayment of all of her ill-gotten gains.”

Williams’ “fraud and schemes” totaled $446,082.

“The charges of misusing a Social Security number and making false statements each carry a potential penalty of up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said in their press release.

“The bank fraud charges carry penalties of up to 30 years in prison, a $1 million fine or both,” the office continued. “The wire fraud charges carry a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.”

Williams faced more than 50 years in prison.

Following her guilty plea, Williams released a statement in a since-deleted Instagram post saying she was “not ashamed.”

“Anything I’ve went through that a normal person would go through privately, I went through publicly. I hope my story, journey, and my growth can help someone going through something similar,” she wrote. “I am not ashamed, I am not phased by comments or opinions. I am proud of the woman and mother I am TODAY.”
