*Scottish supermodel Eunice Olumide claims her career in the fashion industry came crashing down after she spoke about racism on a daytime television show several years ago.

As BBC.com reports, Olumide appeared on Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 TV show to promote her book on fashion when the co-panelists “challenged” her personal experience with racism. Olumide’s response was later posted on the show’s YouTube page, and viewers reacted negatively in the comments.

Olumide believes her appearance on the show damaged her career.

“What was not in the clip, which brought about the discussion, is that Jeremy Vine initially asked me, ‘do you think being black impacted your career as a presenter?,” the 37-year-old told BBC Scotland News.

“I don’t talk about race because I want to, it is because I am always being asked about it,” she added.

“Why do you ask me triggering questions about trauma? Surely that should be done with warning? Would you ask a white model about social issues or the National Front?”

Olumide claims the co-panelists on the talk show were dismissive, and she was “completely caught off guard” when the discussion about her personal experience with racism in the fashion industry went left.

“Prior to the interview, I was in line for a major television show which I lost, I was dropped by my agency including all contracts and a six-figure sum, which means I had to move out of my home,” she revealed.

”A whole lifetime of work has been overshadowed by topics about race,” she continued.

“I lost everything because I talked about race,” she added.
