*Hollywood icon Robert De Niro was burglarized on Monday when a woman broke into his Upper East Side townhouse and began stealing presents from under his Christmas tree.
Shanice Aviles, 30, was spotted entering the actor’s home in the early morning hours on Dec. 19 and was arrested on burglary charges, ABC News reports.Â
According to police, between Nov. 25 and Dec. 8., Aviles was arrested for seven burglaries in the 19th Precinct on the Upper East Side. She is described as a recidivist who broke into De Niro’s home following her Dec. 8 arrest on a similar crime.Â
Police were following her when she was caught inside De Niro’s property as Aviles was wanted in connection with at least six other burglaries. When police entered the home, they found her packing up Christmas presents in a bag.

De Niro reportedly came rushing downstairs when he heard the commotion and that’s when police discovered the superstar lived at the residence. The actor reportedly had no interaction with Aviles.
Stan Rosenfield, De Niro’s publicist, said his client was “fine” following the incident.Â
Aviles reportedly has 26 prior arrests, including 16 for burglaries and petit larcenies. Watch the video report about her below.
