*Alyson Rae Lawson is the owner of a 7-Eleven franchise in Arlington, Texas who is making headlines for selling out bottles of Black Girl Magic wine from McBride Sisters Collection.
The brand is owned by sisters Robin and Andrea McBride – founders of the largest Black-owned vintner in the country, per blackbusiness.com.
“It kind of blew out of the water,” Alyson told Fox News of the massive success of Black Girl Magic wine
The Black Business article notes that “Lawson’s 7-Eleven store is the highest volume-selling retailer of the brand in the whole country.”

“I don’t know that we’ve seen an account quite like this before,” Robin said. “They brought in 10 cases of Black Girl Magic and they sold out the first day. The next day, they brought in 30 cases and they sold out that day. Then 70 cases and it’s sold out immediately. She said I can’t even keep these in stock.”

After a national competition, Hampton University alumna Alyson Rae Lawson has won a 7-Eleven franchise to call her own.
Lawson, of Dallas, Texas, was one of three finalists in the convenience store chain’s first franchise giveaway contest targeted exclusively to women entrepreneurs. She graduated from HU with a bachelor’s degree in business management in 2010, and has two business-related master’s degrees from other institutions.
“It has been a long journey, and a rewarding one,” Lawson said in a press release at the time. “I’m glad to come to the finish line and seeing not only was I a winner, but all the women were victorious.”
