Clockwise: Mike D, Questlove, Jimmy Fallon and Adrock on The Tonight Show (April 9, 2020)

*Questlove and Jimmy Fallon were hardly able to contain themselves while interviewing Mike D and Adrock of the Beastie Boys Thursday night on “The Tonight Show.”

With everyone appearing from their respective quarantined situation, the video chat covered the rap group’s teenage history together, the “Cooky Puss” controversy and their new live documentary, “Beastie Boys Story” on Apple TV+. [“Live documentary” meaning they stand on stage before a live audience and narrate their own documentary as it plays on a screen behind them. Watch the trailer below.]

Questlove had one complaint about the documentary: Mike D and Adrock didn’t give themselves enough credit for their 1989 album “Paul’s Boutique,” an LP that bombed commercially, but one Quest called personally “life changing” and the group’s “magnum opus.” (This conversation kicks off the second video below.)

Watch the entire interview, followed by the trailer for “Beastie Boys Story.”
