*Many Black Democrats expect political unity within the Black community, which may explain why Black conservatives frequently face intense criticism for supporting opposing viewpoints.
Rapper Waka Flocka is the latest catching heat online after being announced as a special guest at the Black Conservative Federation’s upcoming Legacy of Freedom Ball, an event celebrating Donald Trump and Senator J.D. Vance, Vibe reports.
“This is more than just an event—it’s a chance to be part of history as we honor President Donald J. Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Secure your place at this prestigious celebration, where patriotism meets elegance, and revel in an unforgettable night dedicated to our nation’s enduring legacy of freedom,” the organization’s website states.
The event is set to take place on Jan. 19 during Trump’s inauguration weekend in Washington, D.C. Per NewsOne, the guests and “honorary event chairs” include Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas), ex-sports analyst Sage Steele, Florida’s former Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll, Dr. Alveda King, the evangelist niece of MLK, former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, and rapper Fivio Foreign.
Progressive activist Deray Mckesson posted the event’s flyer on X, describing it as “embarrassing.”

One user slammed Waka’s involvement, writing, “Waka Flocka, as a celebrity guest to ANYTHING, is hilariously wild to me.”
Another expressed surprise at Fivio Foreign’s attendance: “Did not expect Fivio Foreign to be there, but here we are.”
A third person noted, “Some people will do anything for money.”
Waka Flocka has openly supported Trump and participated in his presidential campaign efforts.
