*Onijah Andrew Robinson, a 33-year-old woman from the United States, has reportedly returned to New York after a bizarre ordeal in Pakistan that went viral and captivated social media.
Robinson traveled to Karachi in October 2024, following an online relationship with 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon. She had hoped to marry him, but upon meeting, Memon rejected her. His family, especially his mother, was not pleased with Robinson’s arrival and even locked her out of their home. Afterward, the family disappeared without a trace, SandraRose.com reports.
Robinson’s stay in Pakistan became even more chaotic when she refused to leave. She allegedly camped outside Memon’s apartment and began holding press conferences, making strange claims, including that she was from Pakistan and pregnant with Memon’s child. She demanded $100,000 from the Pakistani government, stating that she wanted to help “rebuild Karachi.” Her demands escalated, with her asking for an upfront payment of $20,000 and $5,000 to $10,000 each week.
“I want 20K up front, 5K-10K to stay here every week, and I want those demands from the government right away”, she said in videos on TikTok.
Eventually, local authorities allegedly escorted Robinson to the airport, ensuring she boarded a plane back to the U.S. During the ordeal, Robinson was briefly admitted to a psychiatric ward for evaluation, as her son Jeremiah later revealed that she had struggled with mental health issues.

“My mother traveled to Pakistan to meet a man and his family. She was supposed to return within two weeks, but she never came back,” Jeremiah said.
According to Betches.com, “Onijah had catfished Nidal using filters that made her look like a blonde white woman,” the outlet writes.
Despite her tourist visa expiring in November, Robinson was not initially forced to leave the country. The governor of Sindh province had granted her a humanitarian visa, which expires on February 11. During this period, she remained under the care of philanthropist Ramzan Chhipa, who had been assisting her in trying to arrange a flight home.
Robinson remained adamant about staying in Pakistan amid her family’s attempts to bring her home. Her case sparked conversations about mental health and the impact of untreated disorders.
