*President Donald Trump issued a public ultimatum against Netflix on Saturday, demanding the streaming company remove board member and former UN Ambassador Susan Rice, who served under President Barack Obama.
Variety reports that Rice’s recent appearance on the “Stay Tuned with Preet” podcast served as the flashpoint for Trump’s anger. Speaking on Preet Bharara, she warned that businesses that bypassed regulatory standards during the current administration could face serious repercussions if Democrats gain ground in the midterms.
“If these corporations think that the Democrats, when they come back in power, are going to, you know, play by the old rules, and, you know, say, ‘Oh, never mind. We’ll forgive you for all the people you fired, all the policies and principles you’ve violated, all, you know, the laws you’ve skirted.’ I think they’ve got another thing coming,” Rice said.
Netflix @netflix Board Member Susan Rice @AmbassadorRice says corporations who took a “knee to Trump” will face an “accountability agenda” from elected Democrats if they win the midterms in 2026 and the 2028 Presidential election.

Trump clapped back on the social media platform Truth Social, writing, “Netflix should fire racist, Trump Deranged Susan Rice, IMMEDIATELY, or pay the consequences.” He added, “She’s got no talent or skills – Purely a political hack! HER POWER IS GONE, AND WILL NEVER BE BACK. How much is she being paid, and for what??? Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT.”
Trump’s post also referenced far-right activist Laura Loomer, whose commentary accused Rice of pushing “weaponized government political retribution” against Americans.
Loomer also warned that a completed Netflix-Warner Bros. merger would concentrate streaming power that benefit the Obamas, and called on Trump to intervene and block the acquisition.
Netflix is negotiating a blockbuster $83 billion transaction to absorb Warner Bros. studios and HBO Max. A shareholder vote is scheduled for March 20. Warner Bros. Discovery launched a seven-day negotiation period on February 17, during which Paramount Skydance has a narrow opening to assemble a rival bid strong enough to challenge the deal.
