*One of television’s most celebrated horror anthologies is back with a chilling new chapter. AMC+ and Shudder have set Thursday, May 7 as the premiere date for “The Terror: Devil in Silver,” a six-episode limited series that marks the latest installment in the acclaimed franchise. New episodes will roll out on a weekly basis, with the series also set to air on AMC later this year.
According to the news release, the new season draws from Victor LaValle’s celebrated novel of the same name, with LaValle serving as co-showrunner and co-writer alongside Chris Cantwell of “Halt and Catch Fire.” Emmy nominee Karyn Kusama, known for her work on “Yellowjackets,” helms the first two episodes. Ridley Scott executive produces under his Scott Free Productions banner.
Dan Stevens leads the cast as Pepper, a working-class moving man whose bad luck and short fuse land him inside New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital against his will. Trapped in an institution filled with society’s forgotten, Pepper finds himself up against hostile patients, physicians concealing disturbing secrets, and something that may be far more sinister than anything human. Stevens also serves as executive producer on the project.
The ensemble cast surrounding Stevens includes Judith Light, CCH Pounder, Aasif Mandvi, John Benjamin Hickey, Stephen Root, Michael Aronov, Marin Ireland, and Chinaza Uche, among others.

Cantwell spoke passionately about the experience of bringing LaValle’s vision to the screen. “Working shoulder to shoulder with Victor LaValle to bring his masterful novel to the screen has been an incredible experience, as his story is, yes—packed with death and horror—but also brimming with beauty and the flickering-yet-unassailable light of our fragile humanity,” he said.
For fans coming to the anthology fresh, both previous seasons are currently streaming on AMC+ and Shudder. Earlier installments explored a doomed British naval expedition locked in Arctic ice and the haunting experiences of Japanese Americans held in internment camps during World War II. The original series became one of AMC+’s most watched library titles after joining the platform in 2023.
