*Tamar Braxton is taking steps toward reconciliation after backlash surrounding a jab she took at Loni Love during an episode of The NeNe Leakes Show.
While speaking with journalist Loren LoRosa, Braxton expressed regret for calling Love “Big Back Cadillac,” a comment that drew heavy criticism from fans and industry figures alike, Ice Cream Convos reports.
“That is me being on NeNe’s show… I love NeNe. We have a lot of history. But that is an interview I’m not so proud of. There were cocktails involved, and I just feel like everything is not for the public,” Braxton said, reflecting on the now-viral exchange.
“I probably should say this out loud and in front of everybody… I apologize for calling her a Big Back Cadillac. That was just a vulnerable moment. And I apologize, Loni,” Braxton stated during the interview.

The public apology marks a notable shift from her earlier stance on the podcast, where she stood by the comment in response to NeNe Leakes revealing she was once offered a seat on The Real, a position Leakes believed eventually went to Love.
“I wish they would’ve told me that, because I wouldn’t have casted Big Back Cadillac,” Braxton had said at the time, while discussing her controversial departure from the daytime talk show in 2016. She also reiterated her belief that the show had originally been “built around” her before Loni Love joined the panel.
Despite the past tension, Braxton now says she’s open to a real conversation with Love that could lead to closure and possibly a repaired relationship.
