According to the Metropolitan Police, officers responded to reports of a stabbing around 9 a.m. on Pankhurst Avenue in Silvertown and discovered a 35-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds in the garden of a nearby property on Rayleigh Road. Riley was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
A second man was also injured during the incident and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
As news of Riley’s death spread across social media, tributes poured in from artists, collaborators, and fans who remembered him not only for his songwriting talent but also for his generosity and mentorship within the music industry.

Three people were initially arrested on suspicion of murder following the incident. Authorities later released at least two of those individuals without charge while inquiries continue.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses, CCTV footage, and dashcam recordings from the area during the morning of June 5.
Police have not publicly disclosed a motive or any information about what may have led to the stabbing, and investigators have released few additional details while the case remains active.
