*A new study has found that Nicki Minaj’s social media platforms were the target of a coordinated bot campaign involving more than 18,000 fake accounts.
Politico reports that disinformation detection company Cyabra conducted the analysis, which covered activity on Minaj’s accounts between November 11 and December 28. According to the findings, the inauthentic accounts consistently amplified Minaj’s content while directing negative attention toward users who pushed back against her. On a single day in December, more than half of all engagement on her political posts was traced back to fake profiles.
“This pattern suggests a deliberate attempt to integrate into genuine conversations, increasing the credibility and visibility of the amplified content,” the report stated.

Cyabra categorized the bot activity into two distinct patterns — hollow, praise-heavy responses and more elaborate comments constructed to blend in with authentic conversation.
“Supportive comments generated by fake profiles were predominantly brief, repetitive, and low in semantic complexity, consisting largely of praising keywords and positive hashtags rather than original or substantive engagement,” the report found.
Cyabra CEO Dan Brahmy noted that this type of operation is unusual, saying, “We don’t really see a lot of high volume, high impact orchestration of bad and fake actors within that intersection of the geopolitically driven and music culture.” He added, “It is scarce in our field to see the combination of the bad and the fake online world with the entertainment world.”
The findings drew pushback from Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz, who called the report “100% BS,” per TMZ.
Bruesewitz counts Minaj as a “very close friend” and alleged that Cyabra is partnered with the agent of Cardi B, Minaj’s longtime rival. Cardi quickly distanced herself from the claim, posting, “I do not have anything to do with that and I don’t give AF!!”
