*WNBA star Skylar Diggins has opened up about her ongoing divorce, describing herself as “God’s strongest soldier” while juggling motherhood and professional responsibilities.
The Seattle Storm guard married former Notre Dame football player Daniel Smith in April 2017, and the couple shares two children. According to the Daily Mail, Diggins filed for divorce earlier this year, with sources saying the couple had been separated since November of the previous year.
Addressing her fans on Instagram, Diggins highlighted the challenges of managing her life and family largely on her own. “Been doing everything BY MYSLF (sic) for over a year now. Just me and my babies (and the help of my mom/dad.) THAT’S IT!” she wrote.

She continued in a heartfelt post on Monday, emphasizing her resilience through both personal and professional pressures. “Working, paying the bills, being a present mother and battling through a lot of unknowns… God’s strongest soldier 2025,” Diggins said.
The statement reveals an athlete balancing single parenthood with her professional basketball career while relying on faith during a challenging time.
