*Five years after a life-altering health crisis, Sinbad is stepping back into the spotlight, marking a major milestone in his recovery with a return to stand-up comedy. The 69-year-old performer recently announced two live appearances, signaling a new chapter in his career, EW reports.
The shows, scheduled for April 29 and May 10 at the Ice House in Pasadena (CA), quickly drew overwhelming interest. Within hours of going public, both dates were completely booked, reflecting strong support from fans eager to see him perform again.
In sharing the news, Sinbad expressed both excitement and determination about getting back on stage.
“It’s just the beginning of me coming back,” he said, adding that despite still using a wheelchair, his comedic voice remains as sharp as ever. “I got so much stuff to talk about,” he said. “I’m gonna be talking more trash than I ever talked.”

The upcoming performances will also highlight a personal connection, as his daughter, Paige Bryan, is set to open the shows.
“This is bigger than I can fully comprehend,” she said about sharing this moment with her father. “She talks more trash than I talk,” Sinbad joked.
Sinbad’s health journey began in October 2020 when he suffered a stroke caused by a blood clot traveling from his heart to his brain. Since then, he has made gradual steps back into public life and also resumed acting. He appears in the Netflix film “Straw” from Tyler Perry and made a virtual appearance at the A Different World HBCU College Tour in 2024.
Perry praised Sinbad’s work, saying, “I know it’s been really difficult for him,” and added, “so to give him this opportunity made me feel amazing. I’m really excited for him. And he delivered.”
