*NFL Hall of Famer-turned-podcaster Shannon Sharpe has been hit with a $50 million civil lawsuit filed by a woman identified as Jane Doe, alleging multiple instances of sexual assault.
According to Variety, the suit, filed in Nevada state court on Sunday, outlines what Doe describes as a “rocky consensual relationship” with Sharpe that began in 2023, when she was 19 years old.
The complaint, brought forward by attorney Tony Buzbee, who is also representing over 150 alleged victims of Sean “Diddy” Combs, claims that by late 2024, Sharpe began recording their sexual encounters without consent and sharing the footage with others. The most serious allegations detail two incidents in October 2024 in Las Vegas, where Doe says Sharpe “violently sexually assaulted and anally raped Plaintiff two different times… blatantly ignoring her requests for him to stop.” A similar incident allegedly occurred in January, after which Doe says she fled the state.
Doe is seeking $50 million in both compensatory and punitive damages.

Sharpe, 56, is best known for his career with the Denver Broncos. Since retiring from the NFL, he’s built a prominent media presence, co-hosting Nightcap alongside Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Gilbert Arenas, and leading the popular Club Shay Shay podcast. The sexual assault lawsuit comes amid reports that Sharpe may be negotiating a new podcasting deal worth $100 million.
Meanwhile, MediaTakeout reports that Sharpe found himself trending again, this time for a slip of the tongue that sent social media into a frenzy. During a recent Club Shay Shay episode, while discussing age-gap relationships, Sharpe accidentally said he had “dated younger men” before quickly correcting himself to “women” and attributing the mix-up to a verbal misstep.
Despite the quick fix, the internet ran wild with speculation, especially given persistent gay rumors about being on the down low.
