*Selena Gomez shared and then deleted a video reacting to nationwide immigration enforcement sweeps that led to over 1,000 arrests. Her emotional response to the deportations sparked online criticism from many conservative voices.
“I just wanted to say that I’m so sorry,” a tearful Gomez said in a video on her Instagram Story Monday. “All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”
In response, one X user wrote, “Where you crying when Laken Riley was being raped for 18 minutes and then murdered?”
Ring-wing political host Tomi Lahren called the actress a “certified moron.”
“These celebrity hacks see things on Tiktok or Instagram or social media, and they’re so stupid and ill-informed that they sit there and cry because criminal aliens, rapists and murderers are being deported back to their country of origin,” Lahren wrote on X. “You know, she’s lucky they don’t get hung by their toenails. We’re just sending them home, Selena. The fact that you’re defending rapists and murderers just shows how stupid you are. God help you. Bless your heart.”

The backlash prompted Gomez to delete the video and issue the following response on her Instagram Story: “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”
Meanwhile, President Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan asked Gomez where her tears were for the thousands of Americans who have died after fentanyl crossed the southern border
“I met with hundreds of Angel moms and dads who are separated from their children because they buried them because they were killed by illegal aliens,” Homan said Monday to Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“We got a half a million children who were sex trafficked into this country, separated from their families, put in the hands of criminal cartels to be smuggled into the country. This administration can’t find over 300,000. Where’s the tears for them?”

Homan emphasized that agents are mass arresting illegal immigrants to protect national security.
“Plus, [the] overdose of fentanyl is going to drop. Illegal alien crime is going to drop. Sex trafficking of women and children is going to drop. It’s worth the investment,” he said. “It’s a one-time cost to secure this nation and make America safe again.”
