*What was supposed to be Ray J’s introduction to professional MMA has turned into a story involving possible fight manipulation, a formal investigation, and a two-day hospital stay.
According to TMZ, Ray J sought medical attention at a Las Vegas hospital roughly two hours after Saturday’s event wrapped. Doctors have been running tests to identify the source of his symptoms, which include a heart rate that has been beating slower than normal. A concussion is also being evaluated as a possible factor. The hospitalization adds another layer to an already complicated situation, particularly given that Ray J dealt with heart problems and pneumonia earlier this year.
Attention on the event was building well before any health concerns came to light. Ray J’s MMA debut against Supa Hot Fire ended in a first-round knockout, and the bout drew criticism from some viewers who questioned the lack of blows exchanged before the finish. The post-fight developments sparked an even stronger reaction.

Taking the microphone after the bout, Ray J told the crowd, “Yo, I thought we had a plan,” then quickly pulled back, saying he did not want to “get anybody in trouble.” He also declared, “We lost a lot of money tonight.” The remarks spread rapidly across social media and raised questions about whether the outcome had been predetermined.
Brand Risk Promotions responded Monday with a statement confirming an internal investigation is underway. A practicing attorney and former federal prosecutor is heading the inquiry, which aims to determine whether any attempt was made to influence the fight’s result. The company stopped short of naming individuals but made clear that manipulation of any kind represents a fundamental breach of the sport’s integrity.
No evidence of wrongdoing has been confirmed.
